Good Enough
I think of Winnicott as I tend to the land many days. Yes, it’s good enough. Yes, we are good enough.
The ground is uneven and the weeds are plentiful. Will others find this space as restful and restorative as I know it be? I don’t know how someone else will experience what is here. But what I can know, is that this is good enough.
I forget to water the Astilbe and they fade back into the Earth. What dies down nourishes the earth as it does so. This is good enough.
The perennials die down into the Earth and will return again next year after a long slumber in the arms of the earth. This too is good enough.
I haven’t done enough work to prepare for your arrival here, friend. And yet, I trust that in your heart, you will encounter what is here as perfectly good enough!
